GridApp Systems Announces Clarity 3.5

March 27, 2007 -- GridApp Systems, a provider of database automation software and solutions, introduced GridApp Clarity 3.5, which provides enterprise IT customers a deeper level of functionality and customization to reduce bring consistency to database processes. "We are broadening our functionality and support more kinds of activities and platforms," Rob Gardos, the company's CEO told 5 Minute Briefing in a private interview.

Clarity automates tasks such as auditing, patching, provisioning, and configuration management to significantly ease the drain on valuable IT resources. Clarity 3.5 provides database administrators with greater capacity to standardize and streamline redundant, manually intensive tasks, and to derive insight from their data. "We are extending the patching functionality to SQL Server and clustered environments," Gardos noted. Clarity now supports patching and patch rollback (if patching permits) of non-Clarity provisioned databases, and the provisioning and patching of Oracle and SQL Server databases.

Clarity 3.5 also tailors provisioning and patching activities to allow organization-specific methods and standards, and allows customers to automate based on their standards and GridApp's best practices by building custom scripts that are integrated into the provisioning and patching process. Moreover, administrators create dynamic and customized reports for any information and activities in the CMDB, which now provides one centralized interface to easily track and manage critical configurations across all databases, all nodes, and all clusters within complex, heterogeneous environments. Finally, Clarity 3.5 introduces new support for 64-bit Oracle on Linux and HP-UX 11.23 for Itanium and enhanced support for Oracle Single Instance, Oracle RAC database versions 9i, 10gR1 and 10gR2, and SQL Server 2000 and 2005.
